Subject: New Catalina Mainsheet Magazine On-Line Edition

To all Catalina-25/250 and Capri-25 Association members,

Thank you for your continued support of our association.
As you may have heard, Catalina Yachts was sold and the new owners have closed the factory.
One side effect of the company being sold was the Mainsheet Quarterly magazine was cancelled.

The Catalina Yachts Store is a separate company and they are restarting the Mainsheet magazine using an on-line format.
As the publisher, they will continue to work with the Landis Productions for magazine layout and Garry Douglas as the technical advisor.
Both have a long history with the original Catalina Yachts and Mainsheet magazine.

The C25/250 association is working with Catalina Yachts Store to submit new articles and distribute the on-line magazine.
While the content will be the same, the format and distribution will change.

We are always looking for new Mainsheet articles to submit to the Catalina Yachts Store.

1) Member's Area Login has changed.
You can now login to the Member's Area with your own user and password.
There is a one-time verification process to setup your account.
Previously, there was a general user/password combination.

2) Update your information on-line.
You can now update your membership information through a self-service application page.
You no longer need to send us an email to update your membership information.

3) Posting new photos to the Photo Gallery
One the new features of the Member's Area is posting to the Photo Gallery.
Photos can now be grouped into photo albums.
This allows multiple photos to be posted about a topic, like your favorite project or a recent cruise.

Photo Albums are grouped into categories.
The categories appear on the Photo Gallery page on the left menu.
Note: the existing photos have been converted into new galleries.

The Photo Gallery also now has a search feature.

4) Posting Photos to the Forum has changed.
You can now post photos to the photo gallery and link those photos to a forum post.
Previously, you had to post photos to an external website (example: Snapfish) then link those photos to a forum post.
This will reduce the problem of broken links when a photo is deleted.
Note: You can still use the old method of linking photos to a forum post.

You can also link an entire photo gallery to a forum post.
Previously, you had to link each individual photo to a forum post.

These new features were made possible by the hard work of our Webmaster Paul Alcock.
