To be clear, my boat has three sheaves at the end of the boom - one for each reef point and a third for the outhaul. Presently, I'm only using the outhaul sheave because with single-line reefing I now run the lines outside the boom. A word of warning: When you run single-line reefing on the C250, you canNOT rig it the way Harken shows. The line for the tack must pass through the tack grommet, then back down THE SAME SIDE of the mast. If you cross over as Harken shows, the downward pull of the reef line will pull down on the sail slide stopper and eventually free the slugs. It works great with this one caveat, but for one problem: I had to remove my cunningham since it entangled in the reefing lines. I'm looking at using a cunningham hook now instead of the line. Ah, thus, does one job successfully completed necessitate the next.
