We installed an off the shelf bimini based on good forum advice. think the maker was Westland? Anyway, with the bimini folded up the boot could not be zipped completely due to the split backstay. I used to close the remaining part of the boot with bungee cords, but this did not fully protect the bimini underneath.
I'm about to replace the aged fabric with new sunbrella, and wonder if there is a boot available which will fit around the split stays, by design or with minor modification, short of a full custom sewing job.
