Launched last Tuesday, and, of course, the weather immediately worsened. Checking the boat's lines as we sit through a Nor'easter.
The newly rechristened "Solas" still needs work, but we're into the cosmetology section. Over the winter, we started the process of rebedding but I'm not satisfied with the mast yet. Finishing that will be a priority. Upgraded the traveler, replaced the Raymarine Tridata and the transducers, replaced the plumbing water lines, and then started work on the hull. Did gel coat repair, and am almost done with that. Replaced the rub rail and most of the rail holder. Started restoring the hull to its original shine (still working on that) replaced the striping (with some error) and put the new name on. Friend of mine gave me a spinnaker pole so we installed that and replaced the stereo speakers. (which were smaller than the ones we pulled which did not make it easier) Launching makes me remember what the sailboat is actually for. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy...
