Are you talking about the T bolts in the turnbuckle? If so, they commonly get bent raising or lowering the mast. The mast rises slightly when it rocks across the heel and bends the bolts. Switching the Bolts around when rigging then results in all of them being bent. Replace them all and always loosen the shrouds 8-10 turns before lowering the mast.

No, They are not supposed to be bent. They usually get bent when lowering the mast and the person lowering the mast doesn't keep an eye on them to prevent them from binding and bending as the mast comes down. This also is the case when raising the mast.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Until I get new rigging this spring, I'll just tell people I have special arched racing t-bolts. Cuts down on wind resistance.
