The front hatch on my 78 is void of the prop rod that holds up that hatch. I see they sell a few different sizes from 13 to 18 inches looks common. what size is on a cat 25?

My 87 solid fiberglass hatch uses this one to hold it open along with two dogs when closed. Im not sure if it is the one they used on a 78.https://www.catalinadirect.com/index.cfm/product/15_925/hatch-adjuster-for-fiberglass-hatches.cfm

I have a '77. If your hatch is all fiberglass without an aluminum frame, then it's this one.
