A local company recently started installing webcams around Clear Lake, Galveston Bay, Galveston, and the Freeport, TX area.
Gives us local sailors some really nice opportunities to see what the weather is in our sailing venues before leaving home. Some great sunsets as well.
The CLear Lake camera is my favorite as I can see my marina in the distance straight down the channel. Big flag on a tall pole is my home base.
I haven't made it yet, but I bought the parts to make a wifi anemometer that I will put at the dock. Hopefully Ill be able to see what the wind actually is instead of the unreliable forecasting.
The marina where I store for the winter has a webcam I can point and zoom from home. Some years my boat is visible on the hard, some years not. But I've used it to watch them launch her in the spring.

I will look at a few webcams around my area. This is most close to me, It's the Rod and Reel Pier on the northern tip of Anna Maria Island. The flag in the lower left corner really helps with the wind direction:
