Was looking at YouTube and found a sailing adventure by a recent retiree with a boat that looks quite similar to ours. A 1980 Westerly Griffon 26

Take a look at this video. https://youtu.be/o6-IQEB1KtM

The English gent named Pat Boon took his tiny 26 foot boat out around Lands End, across the Irish Sea, then onto Scotland to cross the canal system through Loch Ness onto Inverness. Then down the east coast back to his home port on the south shore of England.

While he sailed around 55 days, his trip took 150 days due to gales and bad weather.

The exterior of the boat looks a lot like ours and its interior seems familiar as well.

The whole video is a hoot. Enjoy!

Thanks for posting. His boat does look quite a bit like a C25 above the waterline.

In 2009, I had the opportunity to do the Caledonian Canal across Scotland and like him had hoped to sail Loch Ness but ended up motoring. This was just a small part of that trip. We started in Tortola, BVI. Sailed to St. Thomas, USVI (to provision) and then 20 days to the Azores followed by another 10 days to Oban, Scotland and then finally through the canal to Inverness. My 14 year old daughter and I were crew on a Beneteau Oceanis 473. Awesome adventure. Scotland was amazing.

...and a bilge keeler below it. That's very common in the UK where tides leave you on the mud, as shown.

I just wonder what kind of single-malts you can get along the way there. As they say, the Scots keep the best stuff for themselves...
