Often when viewing a boating video on YouTube I get an ad for what looks to be a pretty exciting sailing series in New York ‘s Hudson River right between lower Manhattan’s West Side and New Jersey’s Hoboken waterfront.
Known as SailGP NYC, it’s part of a multi-city tour.
The excitement is due to the foil-based sailboats that come up out of the water and run on hydrofoils at breakneck speeds. Trouble is that with any significant wind speeds, the boats can get a wee bit unstable.
And as every racing fan knows that mishaps can be half the show, it ought to be quite a hoot.
While viewing conditions should be fine along the waterfront, tickets are being sold for on the water viewing, up close and personal...
