Many years ago a member was selling a replacement raised plastic logo here but he seems to have moved on.
I have since kicked and broken mine getting in and out of the boat.
There is a sign shop near me that can make stick on vinyl graphics and I think that is the way to go. Nothing to break.
I am just trying to find a clean logo to scan and size for them to work from.
Does anyone have a link or a file of it?
Thanks.

How’s about getting the bumper sticker and scanning it?

Hi John,

I just sent you an email. It just so happens I have one of those logos handy, because it fell off and I haven't put it back on yet. It doesn't have the "25" with it, but I think you'll be able to find numbers that fit the style and size of the logo.

I scanned it on a piece of graph paper ... 'hope it helps.

Yes that's the idea.
The scan Buzz sent is very accurate but missing the 25.
Anyone got the 25?

The closest I've found is Script MT. You can get these made at DIY Lettering.

I have the 25 from my 89. I saw it in a drawer on the boat on Tuesday. If needed I could hold it up next the word Catalina which is still attached to the boat along with a ruler if that is any help.

I also "might" still have the whole plastic logo on the other side of the boat. I can check on both next time I go down to the boat.

That's great.
Just a photo of either or both would help. I could photoshop it in.

Oh. Sorry the picture is so big but it was the only one I found of the original script.

John - after you get the whole thing scanned, could you make that available on this site? My logos, and I'm guessing many of our members' logos, are in bad shape. I think Catalina Direct has a logo for sale, but I never considered it because it's not the original script. Thanks.

Yeah, sorry for the snide remark. I did get my microscope out to read the comments.
Meanwhile I have an original plastic “25” on Passage. Not sure when the Catalina vanished. I can take a high res close up photo and put it out on my photo sharing app.
I also used to have a 1964 Pontiac Catalina with a dual four barrel carburetor and a 442 cu in engine. You can still find high resolution photos of that logo. I like the old school look of that thing.

Something I slapped together.
I'll try to find someone to make it in Vinyl.

For vinyl transfer graphics, I've found CarStickers.com to be excellent.

Got rid of the big photo so the thread might be easier to read.
This is all looking good. I didn't realize how far from the "Catalina" the "25" was. Photo of the real "25" might help.
More than glad to share once I've got together.
Unfortunately bunch of rain coming in then jury duty so not sure when I can get back out.
What photo sharing app or web sites is everyone using?

I use the Association photo storing in the member area. I'll try and get a pic with a wider angle to show more of the boat.

John, I use Flickr. It gives you 12 different sizes of a photo stored there to choose from. So as not to blow out this forum I usually choose Medium (640x480) Simply pick your size, Right click on the photo,Click Copy image address and insert it in the forum. These are the other choices.

Photo / All sizes

Sizes
Square 75 (75 x 75)
Square 150 (150 x 150)
Thumbnail (100 x 75)
Small 240 (240 x 180)
Small 320 (320 x 240)
Medium 500 (500 x 375)
Medium 640 (640 x 480)
Medium 800 (800 x 600)
Large 1024 (1024 x 768)
Large 1600 (1600 x 1200)
Large 2048 (2048 x 1536)
Original (4320 x 3240)

Just ordered two vinyl decals. Cutouts of the letters only. About $25 for both.

Nice Steven.
I will be working on mine for awhile. I like the "Catalina" Buzz sent me but on close inspection it is pretty rough.

Will probably draw over it to get the rough edges out and am still not satisfied I have found the right "25".
But seeing yours I am more convinced a vinyl stick on is the right way to go.

SKS and TCurran both have the same “25” font that’s the original on Passage. My starboard side logo is largely gone except for the 25, and the port side is largely intact except for the underline following the final “a”. So they have the original fonts as shown. John, the actual plastic molding also was pretty rough. If you clean it up it will look more aesthetically pleasing however it will not reflect the original product. Not passing judgment just letting you know.
