For a simple hull number, most of us use a truncated version of the Hull ID Number (HIN). For instance, my HIN is CTYA0348J798. My sail says 348. In my HIN, 798 has to do with the month/year of manufacture, and J is the month of certification (or some other nonsense).
So for your boat number, it's the four digits after CTYA. For a '95 boat, it will be a lower number than 348.
I believe that this truncated hull number (348) is also engraved into a plate on the front side of my fuel locker, so you can look there also.
The full HIN is etched under the rub rail on the starboard aft part of the hull. I believe that is is also glassed inside the starboard settee in the cabin.
Excellent, thanks Rick My id number is CTYA0115C595 So my boat or hull number is 115.. I dont have the boat with me its still near Tyler.. I will trailer it down to Mexico by sept 8-9 Appreciate all the comments as well.. Paul
