Hi All,
My mast head light is now in two pieces, I'd consider gluing it back together but the thing looks ancient.

I'm looking for a recommendation - Led preferred.

Thanks in advance.

Can you tell what brand it is or was? My original was an Aqua Signal 25 All Around light and I replaced it with the same fixture last spring. I relamped it with a 44mm Festoon Star 2nm navigation all around light and it's very bright at night.

I did not change out my bow light/steaming light since it works, an incandescent bulb is easy to reach to replace and I only use it whilst motoring after dark so I don't have to worry about power consumption.

I see nothing that says it's CG approved.

sure, but not really worried about the remote sequence of events that will lead me to partial culpability in that court.

I'm curious, I looked at the item on e-bay and it seems reasonably priced. However, it advertises that light as a Strobe - so does the one you have installed show constant light or does it blink (strobe)?
Which brings up another question - should it be strobed or constantly on?

thanks

The anchor light should be a light and not a strobe. Here is a LED all-round anchor light from West Marine modified to fit my mast. It is under $30 and is USCG approved for 2nm visibility.
