What an awesome day! Winds out of the SSW, 10 kts gusting to 16, 1-2 ft waves, starting out at high tide, low tide by 5 PM. Five hours sailing to "nowhere in particular" here on the Potomac. Had a full crew, First and Second Mates, their mom, and my long-suffering Admiral all in attendance. Admiral served up lunch during the sail, then she endured the rest of the voyage with sea sickness (forgot to take her Dramamine beforehand). First leg, a reach East from the marina out to the shipping lane, hang a left and run downwind to just outside of Mattawoman Creek (home of the Indian Head Naval Base), run aground (arrgh!), crank up the keel (phew, good thing the bottom was soft), come about 90 degrees and beat for home. Had to drop sail, fire up the Iron Wind, and head straight home with the wind and waves right on Pu's nose to get the Admiral back to terra firma. Pulled into Pu's new slip at "C" dock, secured all sail and closed her log at 1600 hrs.

Pics to prove it really happened...

Downwind leg ...

OBTW, if somebody wants to know who squeezes who, I AIN'T GOIN' THERE! (Yup, the Admiral has a wonderful sense of humor).

Sounds like a great time (except for the admiral getting sick)!

Thanks, Dave. Hope y'all enjoyed it as much as I did writing it (and re-writing it for Brian and Russ). More to come by the way...
