Does anyone have experience running DC wiring from the battery locker under the starboard settee up behind the settee back to the shelf area? I'm looking at installing a new switch panel in the starboard aft shelf area and running boat cable up from a covered bus bar in the battery locker through the area behind the starboard settee seat back. I'm considering making a small (3" to 4" opening in the battery locker and a smaller opening in the shelf deck) to aid in running wire behind the settee. I'll use some teak to mount a through deck fitting for each opening and securing them to the fiberglass. Before I start cutting, was curious to know if the hidden area behind the settee back is clear to make a wire run from the battery locker up to the shelf area. Thanks!

It is open. Some owners have opened and added sliding doors for accessible storage behind the setback cushion.

I ran a cable for my Sony sound system from the switch panel, under the quarterberth, through the battery compartment under the starboard settee and fished the wire through the water tank area to the head bulkhead. From there I ran a wire up inside the head sink area, then passed the wire back through the bulkhead to the radio. I could've gone straight up behind the settee but it was a little easier drilling through wood.

we recently ran ours from the battery located under the stbd seat, over the water tank and to the head area near the sink cabinet to a new electrical outlet.

I believe if you search the archives you will find a couple of posts by people who rewired their boats showing some changes in where switch panels and wiring were routed.
