Henk & Johanna -- I for one will very much miss sharing your sailing experiences. While (at times) more convenient than sailing, I hope your "road and float" chariot serves you as well and brings you as much joy as Someday Lady. Looking forward to the next chapter!

Even though we do not own a Catalina anymore we still signed up for one more year on this forum...

The Bayliner Sunbridge 2855 now 4 months later has a brand-new, rebuilt engine installed complete with headers, risers, batteries and all kinds of new mechanical equipment. The boat is, both in and out, in great shape and very comfortable with lots of room both below and on deck. It even has standing room everywhere and shelter from the weather.

The only problem is, we only took it out once for a test run and slept on board for a couple of nights in our driveway with full provision on board

So happened that the day before we wanted to leave for a 2 month summer cruise to the Gulf Islands and further north beyond Desolation Sound we received a call from our doctor who wanted to see us the same day.

Now more than 2 months later we're still doing tests and waiting... we never got away this summer. With the boat in the driveway we're still waiting. By now it is getting a little late although we could still go but other plans to visit the kids up north are looming larger and larger.

So... as mentioned before, no stories or reports of any cruising trips this summer, not even a small tiny one except perhaps our trial run on Harrison Lake which was uneventful. Besides... what do you report other than launching the boat, turning the key and cruise at 23kn for 30 minutes in one direction and back the other way. Wind, water and motor noise eliminates conversation but yes... for sure you get somewhere fast and create huge waves. Hauling out is as quick and launching and then we're home again. It all seems crazy fast.

Now at home we're waiting for more doctor's report before our next adventure.

We sold the Bayliner Sunbridge 2855 a couple of days ago. Not entirely sure what is next.

Our kids used to sing... whadoyedo on a rainy day... in the ark, scrabble and monopoly haven't been invented yet, we play volleyball but we don't have a net, whatsoyedo on a rainy day etc., forgot the rest

Kind of how we feel right now. However, not in the least unthankfull for all the years sailing our petit 25 ft cruiser whether here at home or on the other side of the continent not to mention the friendships we made on this forum... so many great memories!

We'll anticipate the next doctor's report and go from there. There is lots and lots to do...

We're thrilled to let you know that after 3 month and all kinds of tests the doctors concluded that, apart from some age related wear and tear, things seem to be in order. Wow... what a relieve.

In the meantime having listed and sold the 1987, 2855 Bayliner Sunbridge on Craigslist just a few weeks ago I have started to look for the next boat again. How crazy is that...

We're open for any ideas,suggestions or recommendations...

Well if a sailboat is not in the mix you could compromise with a trawler. Seems that is what many of us older sailors due around me when the old bones just tell you it's time.
