Well, three years after buying the boat I have finally finished the restoration of the galley. It could have been done much sooner if I could just manage to stay focused on one project at a time. But hey, that's just me I guess. From this:

Hello Everyone,

And thanks a lot. Having never worked with fiberglass before, I had no idea how this project would turn out. But in the end I was very pleased with the result. I made the stove platform 3 or 4 inches higher than normal but that was part of my plan. So now its time to move on to the next project.

Hi Again,

The white stuff you see on the steps is non skid tape available from WM. They have black or white, 1" or 2". I think it was a 15' role. Works perfectly so far.

I've used some of that on my steps as well but what I've noticed is that the most critical place to have grip is right on the nosing. That's where your foot ends up slipping on and where the falls come from. I might try to look into some sort of nosing grip for that.

Thanks,

I needed to make new drawer fronts and decided I was too lazy to make the standard Yacht drawer cut out. And I figured the white drawer pulls would look good with the rest of the white in the galley. Boat drawers are made to stay closed when the boat heels, so your drawers might not be sticking. They are mostly designed in such a way as to require you to lift the front of the drawer before you pull. Pardon me if you already knew this.

WOW ... your galley looks GREAT, Guy!

What is the white finish you put on the fiberglass? Is it a two-part epoxy paint, or something else?

Hi Buzz,

And thanks. I painted the new glass with one part marine paint by Blue Water Marine. The color is Super White Gloss. I also used their primer.
