Finally, finally got a flag halyard.... Tied ladder to the mast ( two lines ) climbing chair on my friend and on him the Jib halyard, leading to a clutch and main halyard leading to a clutch.

Tap the stay with a drill, ( lanyard on the drill ) duck taped a rivet into the rivet gun with the strap on it with the block. Insert into the hole, and pull away,

Adjust strap on the spreader and drill the second hole, and add rivet.

Lanyard on the rivet gun.

Run flag halyard line and back down the ladder.....

Block at bottom. Line to deck that I can tie to tighten.

up with the martini flag...

You tapped the spreader not the stay, right? We've been meaning to install our's forever. Hopefully when we get back from our vacation in the next two weeks we can get our's up.

Yep.. the spreader.. sorry... always typing between patients and quite a few people interrupting... We call this job short little attention span theatre...

I needed the flag halyard to finally put up a dive flag when I go down.. going to do a check out dive tomorrow... ( and here comes another patient. )

Later....

Is there a way to use a zip tie to secure the block on the spreader? I reckon the sun’s UV rays would kill the nylon after a few seasons.

Black zip ties are much more UV resistant than natural color ones Bruce. Any colored ones, actually, but black should last the longest.
