Great until you try to sail it when other boats are around. But as I recall, my cabin was "enclosed" too, and didn't look like that.

It makes living aboard more comfortable, but underway you can't see around it or over it unless you stand up. A real pilothouse boat has an inside steering station, and you can see through the front window. Visibility is very obstructed when steering from the cockpit.

Any guesses as to what the white thing is across the transom rail?

It's a bench so you can see over the cabin

Looks like a precarious perch, with no backrest, no handholds, no apparent way to steer from there. I wonder if it has a non-skid surface, in case the boat heels suddenly.

I just noticed, there appears to be a black electrical wire coming out of the starboard end of the white thing. The wire appears to be routed down one of the pushpit legs. Could it be a long, skinny solar panel, or perhaps a mount for a solar panel, with the panels removed?

It appears they’ve installed a window type AC in the forward section of the cabin house. Must be very comfy. I wonder if the owner installed remote steering and a forward-looking camera?

I asked the guy, here is his response.

Good questions. The previous owner replaced the factory pop-up top, which was failing, with that structure which makes the cabin much roomier, height-wise. But it is a view-forward blocker. So the white thing on the stern is an upholstered bench to sit on so you can see over that cabin. I also steer standing up quite a bit, which also works. It is odd but seems to work fine.
We haven’t sailed it since we bought it about a year ago, but the sails were in ok shape at that time. We just putt around with the motor, which is a really nice motor.

I notice that she is for sale -- possibly the great concept did not pan out to work as well as first anticipated!

Maybe that explains the black electrical wire - heated seats!
