Has anybody had any experience with winchers, the self tailing adapters? Considering purchasing some, just curious what the feeling about them is from anyone who has used them.

Click on "search" in the upper right-hand corner of this page. Type in "winchers" where it says "search for." Then check the box that says "archived posts." That will produce a long list of our prior discussions about winchers.

You can find lots of information on many different subjects by making the same search for a key word.

Expensive! If you sail singlehanded, I guess these will be nice to have. But, then again you can use cleats to hold the sheet tail while keeping the sheet in the winch.
