First, thank all of you for your great support of our sails over many years! In our ongoing development to provide you the best Capri 25 sails possible this year we have also been able to hold a few sails to very small price increases, while spinnakers are still the same price as last year!

We are again offering the option of our TFT finish, a layer of a very light skin taffeta on the outside of both sides of the sail. The TFT sails are holding up very well as it gives you a sail with no mylar windows and they also make the laminate a little softer which helps eliminate some of the breakdown due to flexing. The TFT skins are a full race sail option, very light so while they do a great job of extending the life of the laminate at virtually no weight difference they are not made to prevent chafe from external sources. The still need spreader and stanchion patches and the taffeta can be chafed by being dragged over rough surfaces.

The TFT double lite taffetas only add about 4 oz. to a 155%, but with the special taffetas and extra lamination they are more expensive. They will give you at least an extra season of life, possible two. I don’t see much reason to use either type with a mainsail because mainsails will outlast genoas by a couple of year due to the fact they don’t get the impact flutter the headsails do every time you tack and the sail slams against the spreaders. For the same reason, they are not very important for the small 110% Jib.

I have also made two small changes to our spinnakers. They now are designed for a bit more vertical camber, and slightly rounder quarter chord sections, both of which will make them a bit more powerful and a bit more stable for the mostly windward / leeward courses you sail.

Please call me at 949-275-3302 or email to hp@epsails.com to order or with any questions. We do need to have all sail orders in by November 23th to take advantage of special group purchase prices from our suppliers.

Regards,

I’ve been emailing Harry for a few days, he is great to deal with and patient with my questions. my problem is the luff of my main, it seems my boom is mounted ~4” higher than it should be, making a standard Capri 25 main 4” too long. I had a local loft make one a couple of years ago and he had to cut it down to fit my boat, I just thought he had wrong specs till I talked with Harry.

Now my question to the Capri group...who has a sliding goose neck? And can I get a picture? Not sure how I can adapt what I have now to what Catalina Direct is selling. I know I can alway remount the one I have, but I had a slider on both my C25 and C22 and prefer it.

My email is sfccurran at AOL dot com. Just in case anyone would rather email vice post here.
Thanks
tc
