Hi,

Since I have no topping lift, just a homemade pigtail on the backstay of my boat I am going to install a boomkicker. I assume the gooseneck, with it's phillips head screws, connects to some kind of captured extrusion or nuts on the inside of the mast for the screws? I've never taken it off and it looks like I need to for the installation. Thoughts on taking that off and putting it back on (I assume with threadlocker on the screws) for me?

Kemp, I installed mine without removing the gooseneck. Therefore, it was a little cumbersome to get the backing plate in position with a small screwdriver to line up the screws. It was worth the extra effort not to disturb the gooseneck.
