Washed the sails last weekend. The diver is schedule to come out for a little bottom rub. The new charger is charging. The new VHF is hooked to the GPS. The new CD player is playing buffet.

All I need now is for the temps to rise a little, this weekend is looking like a go!

R i i i i i i ght... This weekend will be about 45 deg. up here... I'm just starting to think about taking the winter cover off. I need temps warm enough for the bottom paint.

Well, we're in the throws of an El Nino, so we haven't even gotten snow this year. We got a super light dusting once back in November, and absolutely nothing since. Yesterday it was 63 here, and January was the warmest on record. Al must be gloating...

Unfortunately I'm only about 1/3 the way through stripping the bottom on SL, have barely gotten started on my water bladder install, and about 1/3 the way through deck hardware rebedding (two turning blocks and one chainplate, although I'll probably do both chainplates just to be sure. Fortunately I've gotten through a bunch of little projects so my list is shrinking, but I've still got an easy two months to go I think.

I did get my sail back from Sailcare a month before I expected it. Looks brand neww, guess I won't be putting my old reef lines back on it, they'd make it look grubby again.

Also looking for a good deal on a new Davis Windex 15, cheapest I've been able to find it online was about $38, but (not surprisingly), they were out of stock. Next cheapest seems to be Defender at about $44, so I should be able to hold West Marine to that price & get it locally.

We had a terrific weekend last week and looking for the same this week. I'll be entering Stephanos into the RCYC Frost Bite Regatta. Friday afternoon We are taking Stephanos and Joint Venture (A C-27) down to Rush Creek across the lake and anchoring out for the night so that we are down there for the Saturday morning race. Weather is predicted to be in the 50's and winds around 10 knots. :)

Yes, this weekend looks like a go for us Mid-Atlanticers! Weather looks great Saturday with 15kt NNW winds in Cape Fear, where I'll be sailing. Hopefully, you can do as well. I can't wait to put this winter in the history books. Man!
Tom, I'm moving Windsong up to Oriental for May-June. In preparation, I've been reading Young, studying the charts and getting real excited about Pamlico. Perhaps I'll see you on the water!

Tom, good to hear from you. We are about 4 weeks from launch. I am really interested in your experience with that CDI main furler setup.

We cannot direct the winds but we can adjust our sails.

Tom--gotta love those spaceous sidedecks, but why did O'Day put the chainplates right in the middle of them??

Dave,
Beats me why, of all the places. I guess I could say it nice to hang on to when rocking an rolling. But this fat girl is pretty stiff at over 10' wide.

Michael,
You got to let me know when you get up to the Sailing Capital of North Carolina (Oriental).
I've got room on the dock if you want to lay over one night. Power and water available. I'm only a few hours sail from there. Lots of neat places to sail to around here.

Randy,
I'm really liking the main furler. Its not a CDI, its a Harkin furler. I was skeptical at first but I'm sold now. Reefing is just a little pull on the line, takes the wife about 30 seconds to reef the main from the cockpit.

Those shrouds are there so you have somewhere to stub your toes on.....

I'm still up to my eyeballs in epoxy, but getting closer. Hope to sail in May.....
