Note: We are selling the boat due to our age. The 1995 Catalina C250 WB #151 has been featured many times in magazines such as the “Catalina Mainsheet”, and the “Good Old Boat”, magazines for practical modifications. The C250 WB is both inside and outside including the sails, hardware, trailer and dinghy in excellent condition. The ablative bottom antifouling could use some touch-up with ablative paint provided.

We really don't want to but... this year our 5 weeks on the boat to Desolation Sound things seemed to have gone a little slower.

It took us longer to raise the sails and taking them in earlier etc. We seem to motor more and are a bit more concerned and apprehensive about weather and conditions especially during longer open water passages.

So... perhaps...

Just want to inform you that the boat has been cleaned & winterized as of this weekend and tucked under her fall/winter/spring tarp with the trailer on blocks.

The 8 ph Honda motor has been winterized, the battery removed and placed on a trickle charger and the on-board water tank emptied

Her entire interior including cushions, sails, etc., have been removed and stored inside awaiting the next sailing season

The furler extrusion is housed in a 2 1/4" central vacuum tube to make sure is stays clean and straight

It happens...

After 30+ years with her, some good friends of mine just sold their beautiful, classic Mystic 30 cutter and bought a gorgeous Robinhood 33 "Downeaster"... Roomier, quieter (under power, as cruising sailboats so often are), faster, drier, and easier.

Henk, you and Joanna, proved that the dream many of us have is doable with a little planning and work...and those NW sailing venues...wow. Best to you in the next round of adventures. With mixed feeling we will say goodbye next Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 to our beloved Someday Lady.

She was purchased by a wonderful "just retired couple", who we're sure, will take care of her well and receive just as much pleasure owning her as we did.

It was not only the sailing but having been part of this forum from when we first owned the boat, that we enjoyed the wonderful, warm, friendly and helpful comradeship as well as the continuous support for well over a decade. We learned and received far more from the forum than we ever will be able to give back. Thank you all for allowing us to be part of this great forum.

We sincerely hope that Someday Lady's new owners, who actually located the boat in the forum's "Swap Meet", section, will see the value of membership and participate with the Catalina/Capri 25/250 Sailor's Forum

You're not going to like this but Johanna and I decided to go to the dark side with buying a 28.6ft., 10ft beam "stinkpotter",... we know... we know...

We, nevertheless, intend to continue on this forum

I DO know!! Yours is a fair amount bigger than mine (especially in beam)--mine might be faster (33 kts top, 24 cruise), is probably not as comfortable in a seaway, and probably consumes considerably less... I tell people she sleeps 2 and parties 10. I spent over 50 years being "already there"--now I kinda like turning the key, "getting there faster," and setting the hook (via the electric windlass). Besides, just about all cruising sailors I've known admit they're under power a majority of the time, to get "there"--slowly.

This would be a good place to introduce ourselves. We are the "recently retired" couple that have just become the proud new owners of C250 #151, aka Someday Lady. We retired mid-2016 and got bit by the sailing bug last summer in the San Juans. We are fairly new to sailing so we plan to take it slow and take advantage of the knowledge and experience here on this forum. We had already signed up for sailing classes in early March, but this boat was too good to pass up and we were lucky she hadn't been snapped up already. The boat will stay in the driveway on the trailer until after we have completed our basic lessons.

And if you ever get a chance for a face to face meeting with Henk and Johanna you won't be sorry if you accept (unless you have somewhere else to be in the next few hours!). What wonderful, kind, hospitable folks they are. And obviously very knowledgeable about the C250 and sailing in general.

Now let's encourage that spring weather!!
