Wondering if there is a way to tell whether or not I have a tall mast on my Capri 25 without dropping the mast. I could "maybe" run up a tape measure with the main halyard.

I think all Capri's came with the same size mast. If your boat perhaps has a retrofit mast then you might not meet the class standard. Tall and Short mast are particular to older Catalina 25's I think.
Run a tape up the mast with the halyard and see if that is close to the 30.75' of the class standard. When down my mast hangs a couple of feet over each end of the boat, but I've never measured it precisely. I've had class sails made for it and not observed any issues so I presume mine is per class standard.

Yeah, its supposed to be one size fits all in the Capri 25. You can use the jib halyard to measure forestay length to match the specs.
