We have a 1984 C25 swing keel. I am wanting to and trailer guide posts any recommendations on length of post would be greatly appreciated.

Flexible and a little higher than the toe rail with the trailer submerged for loading. I will be adding PVC posts at the end of my trailer this year. That is well aft of maximum beam and they will flex as the max beam passes. I will go with a standard 10' length and mark them for cutting when I recover Pearl. You could go with more rigidity and mount them farther forward if you choose, but they need to extend above the rub rail. Getting the boat centered so the keel can be lowered can be a real PIA with wind and current.

I made mine out of 1 1/2" pipe and slid a piece of 2" PVC over the pipe. It rolls when hit. There times when the boat will hit them fairly hard. I also marked them for water depth required to float the boat off the trailer. They are adjustable in and out and about in line with the jib winches.

I got some great ones on my Catalina trailer that came with my boat. I can measure my trailer guide posts height next week & take a picture. They work well and slide in-out to adjust for launching (the post slide out for widest part of boat to pass while loading/unloading) and slide in when the boats on the trailer so its not so wide down the highway.

They are metal posts with rollers where they might touch the boat.

hewebb says he used pipe with PVC, that's a cool idea too to make one.

I personally wouldn't just use PVC, they will break off.

1" pvc is pretty flexible and I'll remove them after recovery. I just want a little pressure if she drifts off center and a visual aid if I have a helper.
