Good morning,

My 250WK mast snapped at the spreaders in a recent storm.

CD sells a new mast for $3.5k but then charges another $3.5k for packaging, freight and tariff fees.

Does anyone know how to either source a used mast from the North Texas area, or how to go about sleeving the mast?

Thank you!

James

Hi James,

The Catalina dealer where I bought my C250 sold new and used boats.
They also had a winter storage yard and did boat repairs.
They were a good source for used stuff from damaged boats beyond repair.
The boat damaged parts were not advertised.

It might be worth a try to search your local area.

James - very sorry to hear that you lost your mast. That must’ve been quite a hellacious storm to rip the mast down at the spreaders! I hope you weren’t sailing your boat at the time. Did your headsail catch the wind somehow?
I’d be hesitant to try any repairs if the current mast unless it was a clean break without any collapse of the column.
You might look at Dwyer Mast in Rhode Island. If you know the dimensions they may be able to provide you with something. You’d probably have to swap masthead.
Check Dwyer mast extrusion
