Hi Everyone
I was wonder if anyone has done a Solar panel rack at stern or something connect to rear seat railing that could support three 100 watt panels. I have 2000 Catalina 250 WK
Thanks in advance.
Joel

Hello Joel,

I put a couple of panels on our bimini. The panels are a couple of 100w flexibles. The setup is charging via victron gear and uses a lifepo4 battery that I built.

The system has worked well for us over the last two seasons and we have not run short of power. That said, there is room for bigger panels.

The install and bimini are in this thread:

I’ve seen several posts from folks who have mounted a single 4ft 100W rigid panel to their stern pulpit, however, this is the max that would be practical in that location.

Other folks have reported they added flexible panels to their bimini. I just saw a 175W flexible solar panel from Renogy. Not sure how many panels would fit on a typical bimini.

Some folks have added a stainless steel arch behind or instead of the bimini to support several rigid panels. 2x2 100W panels would probably fit on a 7 ft wide arch.

Hi Joel,

I haven't installed a solar panel, but I used the Forum Search to find some related posts.
Click Search, then search terms "solar" or "solar panel".

There is one trick using Search.
Select "Archive Posts" to get previous posts.
Un-select "Archive Posts" to get the current ports.
You have to search twice to get them all.

Here are just a few I found, but there are many more.
Some posts have links to external sites, which may also help you.
