Ray has informed me that his 250 has mounts in the cockpit for the table under the v-berth. I double checked my cockpit today, and I definately do not have anywhere to mount my table. It sure would be nice to dine in the cockpit on a cool night.
Does anyone else have/not have these mounts? Was it an option from the factory?
According to the information I have 1999 was the last model year the cockpit table was offered. If you have wheel steering West Marine has some nice tables that attach to the pedestal rail. They folds down the rail for starage and fits nicely under the pedestal canvas cover. Check them out page 815 of the 2001 master catalog.
we have a 99 wk. and have pedestal steering. we do not have mounts for a cockpit table either. i know that you can buy them from boats us for $299 to $499.00. we bought a small teak LOOK table from sears that is the perfect width and height for the cockpit. it folds down flat for storage. it matches the teak LOOK shelve that we have in the vberth for our tv..
My 1999 model year (#384) has the cockpit table supports. Only the water-ballast models have this as standard equipment. The wing keel models use a different cabin table that cannot be moved to the cockpit. I attended the commissioning of a local sailor's new 2002 water-ballast boat a couple of weeks ago. If I'm not mistaken, his cockpit has the supports as well (#642).
If I were you, I'd call the dealer or the factory to know why they left it off of your wb boat.
Here is a photo showing the four STARBOARD mounting brackets (two on either side of the mainsheet block) mounted on the vertical wall of the bridgedeck.

I sure am glad you knew the whole story Mark. I was beginning to wonder if I really had the table mounting brackets after all, as I don't think I ever really put up the table in the cockpit. I was not going to the boat till tommrow but had planned on going armed with a camera.
Why four brackets Starboard?
Hull # 642 already. I already have an antique.
I'm starting to wonder if Catalina thought my boat was a WK before they shipped it out. I don't have the cockpit mounts, and my sail number is 554K. Does the K mean keel? I guess I'll send another email to Catalina with yet another question they won't respond to.
Tray why don't you try a phone call. Ask for Frank Butler he is a hands on person in cust. relations. The dealer and I talked with him some months ago when we bought our boat, we didn't ask for him he took the call and the issues were minor.
If you could get Catalina to send the mounting brackets the installiation would be very easy. They are just bolted through the companionway bulkhead or how about wall.
I can't resist leaving the status of deckhand behind. Looks like your in the same boat ( pun intended ) Tray.
I wasn't very clear was I? The brackets are made from King STARBOARD material. I didn't mean starboard (as opposed to port).

The "K" definately means it is a wing keel . . . or it was intended to be. Very strange.
I talked to Frank Butler about this on Friday, and he said he doesn't know why I've got the "K" on my sail, but he told me to just peel it off. He's also sending the table brackets to my dealer.
Arlyn was right...better to pick up the phone rather than email.
Thanks for the update. I knew Frank Butler would come thru he's da man. I was at the boat yesterday and
quote:
They are just bolted through the companionway bulkhead

I must admit I supplied a bit of mis-information. The brackets do seem to be screwed or bolted, however bolts do not show up on the inside wall of the aft berth. Only the Mainsheet bolts show up on that wall. I guess they could be bolted through. Perhaps some other more knowledgable person could chime in for pros and cons if there are any.
