Just got back from the One Design Regatta, which was hosted by the Mission Bay Yacht Club in San Diego. What a great place to sail. The winds were from 9-14 mph both afternoons and the weather was great. I didn’t bring home any hardware but had some great runs. The Mission Bay Yacht Club had committee boats both out in the ocean for the bigger boats and in the bay for the smaller boats. There was 6-7 different coursed in the race instructions and you would never know which course you were running until your class board came up and it would change each time you came around for the next race. Kept you on your toes. I am still new at these regattas but I learn a lot at each one I go to. I need to make a few more modifications to the boat and get a little better with the spinnaker before I will be competitive. Over all I had just a great weekend wish I could do it more often.

dont forget to get in touch with Mission Bay Catalina 25/250 Fleet 7. We are in Marina Village only 5 minutes from the Mission Bay Yacht Club.

I am co-captain. Gary Norgan is our Captain. I think just about everyone was out sailing Sat and Sun.

Jim I was hoping to get some time to come by but with getting the boat ready and all of the other things involved with the regatta there just was no time. Also with all of the other people with the same class boat coming in from out of state and northern California we had a lot to talk about. It is also one of the only chances I get to see what a dozen other people have done with their boats. Lots of ideas and lots of helpful suggestions. This weekend I have been asked to help crew on a 36’ out of San Diego Bay, hopefully the weather will be as good as it was last weekend. One of these times I should be able catch up with the 7th fleet. I think I sailed past some of them in my 250 last May when some of them came into San Diego Bay as I was going out. That is the closest I think I have gotten to the 7th fleet.. I loved your log of your vacation looked great. But neither my boat nor me are up for such big adventure.
