I have a catalina 25 in connecticut which i need moved to miami. i dont have a trailer, and the estimates i have to move it are around 4000 dollars, which is pretty much how much the boat is worth at the moment.

does anybody know any good forums or recommendations on finding somebody to SAIL it down to miami instead? obviously, this person would need a lot of time on their hands and enjoy sailing. obviously, it is also important that this person is reliable and trustworthy. does anybody have any leads i can follow on this topic? thanks,
wallace

Licensed captains usually would charge about $125/day + all expenses. Look in any of the local sailing papers or magazines for delivery captains.

Thats about 2000 miles down the ICW. I think it would take at least a month. That would be $3500 for the Captain + food, fuel and marinas. I don't think you could get it much under the $4000

Let's see... cheap, available delivery skippers with lots of time on their hands who claim to know how to sail. Have you seen the movie "Captain Ron"? Are you sure you want to go there?

What's your time frame? Also, buy a trailer, move the boat and then sell the trailer.

My captains license should be arriving in the mail soon from USCG sector Charleston and as I am self employed I'd be willing to deliver your boat by water for the going rate. The Admiral has already suggested that I diversify into this field. And as my first paying customer I'd be willing to give a discount!
