We use PHRF-NW here on the Columbia River. It is based in the Seattle area. Yes, the numbers read high....and the chief measurer (an acquaintance) has said that it is because we have light air in the Seattle area (well.....see the sinking of the J24s this spring!) The numbers are HIGH, somewhat, but they are across the board, so nearly every design still comparable to each other.
The rating beater on the Columbia is the Cal 20, of which there is quite a fleet of SUPER racers who have basically perfected their performance over time (many are guys with big, fast ocean racers, including one sled that USED to own the Pacific Cup record to Hawaii...they race the Cals for fun on the river, rather like some guys race model sailboats!. I can barely or rarely beat them scratch with my C25 which rates 238 (with spinnaker), while the Cal 20s rate 296or 7!!! We owe them a minute a mile, so on PHRF, almost nobody beats the fastest of them......ask Derek Crawford; he has raced out here and seen it! They are quite amazing boats, I think.....sorry for the random sidebar.....
Duane - are you interested in the actual websites or in the PHRF ratings that various folks are using? DerekP.S. Gary B is right about the Cal20 - a fair rating for them would be about 197!!!
Duane - there have been quite a few changes in ratings since 2003 - would you like some up-to-date figures from 2005? I'm going back to Texas today (just spent 2 weeks in beautiful Virginia) and could get the new book this weekend. Derek P.S. Did you ever find that cracked cowling?
I have access to a 2005 as well. the main goal of this excercise was to get a good listing of the Phrf Orgs the membership is associated with and post them in the Links Section.

Since Derek brought it up, it reminded me that I sent you an email through the Forum a couple of weeks ago, and I got no reply ... I suspect your email link here might also be bad ...
My own bugaboo is a Mariner 19. It rates about the same as my C-25, but it's so light it just scoots along the Potomac in two knots of breeze. I can't take anything away from the skipper--he's a great sailor, but I'd definitely beat him if I sailed his boat and he sailed mine.
