Just had to report that the Catalina 25 I purchased (Tako Kichi) is a wonderful boat. Went for my third sail in it today. Left work early and arrived at the dock only to be greated by Maine's ubiquitous fog. Patience was rewarded however, when, after about an hour, the sun worked its magic and melted it away. My friend Dan and I hoisted the sails and ventured off. We sailed, without tacking, from Falmouth to Portland then turned around and returned, again without having to tack. The wind was a wonderful 5 to 7 knots. When I returned to the mooring, I saw many sailboats with masts missing, waiting to be lifted off to their winter resting places. I realized how fortunate to be sailing in September, in Maine, in a Catalina 25.
Tako Kichi is scheduled to be hauled out on October 12th. That means lots more sailing days. Life is good!
Glad to hear that you're enjoying her! I own a 1983 C25, fin keel, which I keep near Portsmouth, NH. Plan to have her hauled anytime after October 31st and hope to get in a few more sailing weekends on her before then.

You'll have to post some pics. It has been a very long time since I've seen the rocky coast of Down East. It was Medomak, ME I visited. I recall we to a trip to Boothbay Harbor and saw Pemiquid Light. Glad to hear that sailing is good up there. My hope is that some day I can take a year off and cruise to Maine in the summer stopping at every port along the way and then back to Florida for winter.
