I removed the Beckson port in the quarterberth early in the summer after discovering it was the source of a leak each rainfall. I covered the opening with poly. but did not replace the port as I hoped any water that had penetrated between the sandwiched cockpit sole and interior liner would have some chance of escaping with the heat of summer. Have not had any leaks since. It is now time, however, to replace the port. I can replace the gasket and reinstall the original port but neither the Admiral nor I are fond of the ankle busting Beckson "rain drain" design. Any thoughts/suggestions?
