This is my first winter with my boat. It has been a great year siling here in Maine but sadly I need to have the boat hauled within a month. I need to winterize the head for storage. Is this a simple do it yourself project or should I pay the boat yard? Thanks for the help
My winterizing routine for the fixed head consists of throughly pumping out the contents of the holding tank (at least twice) then I pour a gallon of antifreeze in the bowl, pumping most of it into the holding tank. Other than opening and closing the intake thru-hull to drain it, that about all I do.

I generally use either the -50 or -60 Marine/RV antifreeze...
What about the sea cock? Should that be opened during this flushing? That seems it would pull the water out of the supply line. I left mine open last year and flushed it dry and put a gallon down through the head into the tank. Did not have any problems in the spring.
It is sad to be hitting this time of year for the boat.
Before putting in the pink stuff I would send through a gallon of bleach with a half a tank of water and slosh it around. Let it sit for a day and pump out......
If you want to make SURE everything is protected you can jam a piece of hose into the through hull (from the outside) and stick it in the bottle of pink standing on a ladder....
