Well it's time to order replacement hardware for "Brandy". Last September we partially destroyed the grommet in the mast where the lower shroud hooks into the mast. Also destroyed the plastic recepticle that the gin pole fits in on the lower part of the mast when the mast is raised/lowered. Suspect age was a factor. Does any of my fellow sailors have P/N of either one of thse parts. Also a good phone number at Catalina parts.

I'm trying to figure out what this part might be. I've not seen it on my boat.

I hear Catalina Direct has lots of parts. They are not affiliated with Catalina Yachts. They just sell the parts.

Ben, the part is only on those boats equipped with the early mast raising gin pole.

Bear, probably either have to get that one from Catalina Yachts or make it yourself. I've use a hand drill as a simple lathe to turn out plastic parts like that.

Wayne the plastic part that came apart for the gin pole was originally made of wood. After mine came apart in two uses I made a new one out of an aluminum dowel. I posted some pictures of it on this post.http://www.catalina25-250.org/forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=7909 It was real easy to make and will never come apart again.
