Made it back last night from the Cumberland Island Cruise. We made the trip down from Atlanta to Jacksonville on Wednesday;Jerry met me at the marina and helped me set up and launch. We left out on Friday for the 4 day 140 mile round trip. The Admiral, Kevin and I had a wonderful time thanks to the great hospitality extended by Fleet 25. Not even the cool, cloudy, sometimes rainy weather dampened the spirit of adventure as we forged on thru high North winds and strong currents. Ben impressed all with his armadillo wrangling skills, and I still wonder how Tom G. found all those people on his boat a place to sleep. Our thanks to Fleet 25 for a great trip-we are looking forward to sailing with you again soon.
Was a pleasure to meet you Tom along with Cyndi and Kevin and hope we can do it again real soon! I had a great time with everybody in Fleet 25 even though the weather was a bit rough. Me and the boat both got beat up a little. My leg has an orange size bruise where I tried to jump to the dock and my foot caught the life line. But the boat was saved. And it is very nice the way you put me "makes some adjustments" in your picture. That is actually a rats nest of foul lines after dousing the sails in those 25k winds. Next time I'll be sure to douse the jib, then turn upwind to drop the main. Fortunately I did not have to use the knife I keep in the cockpit. I did continue on to gunkhole at Ft. George R. where I've stayed before. The new Garmin 276c took me through utter darkness for 3 hours. Lesson learned was to take it off of Auto Zoom in tight quarter such as the ICW. I almost went aground after passing a waypoint and the thing zoomed out so far I could tell where I was in the channel. Here are some more pics & a short video in .WMV format.

Nice photos Ben. Too bad we didn't get your wipeout on tape. I think I saw one of your wings OUT of the water!!!!!! I will get my pictures posted soon. Your armadillo knowledge is awesome.
Great pictures all. Tom P., it was great meeting you and your family. Kevin is a great young man and you should be very proud of him. A little sorry we did not make the trip, but the General doesn't mine getting beat up when it is required, but not if there is a choice. Just remember the Golf Room is available with no reservations required. Just come on when you get the itch. We still plan on making the trip and will probably do it when the weather breaks, since we do not have issues, we just load up and go. Again great having you join us and look forward to your next visit.
