I have been keeping an eye on discounts for the Humminbird Fishfinders. That will probably be my next mod replacing the SR Mariner depthfinder that does not work. Appreciate everyone's responses when I had questions on this earlier.

I am mainly looking for one from a local store unless the mail order route is such a good deal. I am leaning toward the Matrix 17 which West Marine has for $179. I have a newbie West Marine coupon for $20 good toward a purchase thru March.

I was just checking on-line yesterday and noticed that West marine's on-line website has a sale going on right now on the Matrix 37. That's the one with a quad beam that gives some details over a wider area on all sides. They have reduced the cost by about $80 and is now a little over $200. Just thought I would mention this if anyone else is interested. I am still procrastinating but plan to do something soon - maybe go with the Matrix 37.
