I am new to the forum and member of the association. We have sailed in inland lakes (KY-what else) during the first year we have had our water ballasted 250. The question I am trying to sort out is the drain for a shower in the head. I am reluctant to cut a hole in the floor to find out if the water tank runs beneath the head. Can anyone tell me if there is room for a drain with a hose attached to run shower water to a sump that would be located aft of the head? Plan on trailering the boat to the Chesapeake Bay area in the spring and the shower has been strongly requested as a mod for this winter.
Thanks,
Hull #813

Dave,
First, I haven't installed a shower, but I checked my C250-WB it's pretty tight under the head.
There looks like about 1 inch (or less) between the head floor and water ballast tank.
Look in the storage locker forward of the head with a flashlight and a mirror.
I like your idea of using a hose to drain to the aft bilge.
The ballast tank is flat and don't want to flood the forward lockers.
You might consider a cockpit shower.

You may want to consider one of these for deck use... I bought one and it works well if you let the water warm in the sun a little. (The blonde was not included though.)

I use mine in the cockpit area, I hang the sun shower and curtain from the pig tail off the back stay.

Thanks for the ideas. I contacted Catalina and there comment was there was no room for anything under the floor of the WB model in the head. If there is at least an inch of space I would be tempted to try an above floor drain with 90d fitting with hose attached. I was going to route the water to a sealed container in the aft end that could be mostly drained with a bilge pump. I have 12 vdc available in this area to run the pump.
