I've finally found the boat I've been looking for, '98 250WK. It has everything on it I need but the wife wants a little more. I haven't seen a thread about adding shore power to the 250, anyone done that?
My '01 doesn't have it either, so I just run an exterior 110 extension cord from the box into the boat and connect it to a multi connecter surge box. I really only use it for my battery trickle charger.
We have it and find it very necessary. It comes in on the starboard side aft into where the batteries are located. There it connects to a junction box .The battery charger sits in there then AC to the galley for microwave etc.We had it professionally installed .It was a little costly but worth it.If not done correctly,I've heard of meltdowns. The whole thing including an extra battery, charger, cord, breakers, etc.with labor was about 500 and worth it,since it just adds more value to your boat.
Thanks for the info. I installed shore power on my Cal 36 after researching how to do it and never had a problem in 25 years with it. I'll install a second battery and a charger also. Is your connection on the stern?
we also had shore power installed on our 99wk. at the same time we had an inverter, second battery and battery charger added. now when we are out overnight we can run everything that we can run at the dock.
