Thanks Dennis. I sent the seller a message. I asked for dimensions so I can verify that the sails fit my standard rig. Can a sail maker convert the hank on sails to a furler type?

Thanks,

Yeah, they can be converted, but most recommend not doing so for a number of reasons. Aside from the obviouis hank-to-luff tape conversion that must be done, the two sails are cut very differently with the furling sail having a shorter luff, a higher cut clew, and a generally flatter shape. Also, a purpose built furling sail is built to withstand reefing whereas a hank on genoa will likely be made from a lighter cloth.

Another factor is cost,...By the time you have the sail recut and put on the luff tape, foot lines, and a UV cover, you probably approaching the cost of a purpose built furling sail.

Thanks Don. I was thinking about the cost and how converting it may add up. I'm leaning towards buying one new from Catalina Direct.
