What size, make, model, # is the proper bulb for the steaming light, just above the deck light, on the mast? Sure don't want to hike up there with the wrong bulb. Thanks.
Check your deck connector contacts before you go up. My mast lights were out a lot until I cleaned all the contacts, took the plug apart cleaned and reconnected the wires and coated everything with an electrical anti oxyidation grease. I also taped the cable where it entered the connector. Everything has been great for a year now. I also made a ladder out of 2x3's that would reach the steaming/deck lamps - the prong on the deck light came out of the bulb.
Since apparently nobody knows what kind of bulb is in the steaming light, I called Catalina Yacht Anchorage in Marina del Rey, CA and got the answere: it's a 12 volt, 15 watt n3X, available at most chandleries, definitely at West Marine. You're welcome
Steaming light "problem" solved. Dumb me. As a newbie 250 owner I didn't know that the BOW switch on the panel IS the steaming light switch. Saved my old(er) bones a precarious trip up the mast. All lights operative. But if the bulb does burn out...
