I currently have my Catalina 25 moored in the Blackwater river just south of I 20 near Pensacola, FL. We will be on the boat Memorial Day weekend and would like some information about the area. Are there any places of interest, restraints, etc. accessible from the bay? Can anyone recommend any good web sites for information? Any place to avoid? Douglas Scott dougscott@cmams.com

Their will be a lot of power boaters out, but try heading to Destin, Fl using the ICW heading east( pretty water/ lots to see) or Fort McGray on the west side of the Pens. pass( can get packed with boats ). The Fort has a nice cove and will allow you to put your bow on the beach even with a fin keel! I would stay away from the beach area called Quietwater to many PWC. Where in Blackwater? Mom lives in Milton.

The Blackwater runs through Milton. My sister has a place on Peterson Point.

Thanks for the info!
