I have #793 delivered in June '04 #881 - #841 = 40 in 6 months #841 - #793 = 48 in 12 months The Catalina brochure says the C250 was introduced in 1994. So #881 / 11 years = 80 per year average?
So far it is about 48 jun 04 thru jun 05 and then 40 between June 05 and december 05. Not a lot of data to make any valid extrapolations. But that's 88 in 18 months.
Kevin, have you registered your boat in the OWNERS section of the Association Web Site yet? We need all 250 owners to start registering their boats even if they don't join the Association although I cannot figure why anyone would not join for a measly #20.00. Sorry I will get off my horse now.
I have joined the organization not just once, but twice. I sent my $20 before I owned the boat, and then buying a boat is supposed to get me another year's memebership paid for by the factory.
I have sent the owner's questiontionaire, but that process does not appear to work very well.

The way it usually works is that periodically somebody does a batch of new owner information on the site. We get what we pay for, and then some!

Rest assured you receive the same service that owners of much larger Catalina Yachts receive. We all use a wonderful lady who provides the real National Association membership services. That includes receiving your check from you or receiving the check from a dealer. She sends membership letters about quarterly so there are enough to justify the effort, (that keeps her costs down). You should receive a membership letter shortly. We are actually delaying about two weeks on this cycle so the new members will receive the new decals with their welcome letter. Those get in next week. If you have a duplicated membership it will be noted and a second year will be applied. As to the pages on our site, (owner's questionaire) that is different from even the site membership which is a much larger group of people, (yes, some people hang around here and do not join the National Association) that list is a purely voluntary event and with the new site it is probably going to be more up to date than it has been for a long time. So, three lists: Owners (very casual list seldom updated) Site members (should reflect current registered forum users) National Association (only officers see the spreadsheet; quarterly)
Right now our "Members" link, (upper right) is misdirected to the members only page rather than the forum members list, but I am sure that will be fixed soon.
Sheesh, how does a guy get along here? Frog chastises me for not having spent a measly $20 to join the organization (which he assumes I have not done because I am not in the owners list). I reply that I have joined twice, and sent in email, and I note that the process does not seem to work well, because I am not on the list.
Now I am getting chastised (gently again), for criticizing the all volunteer organization. Well, I did not intend to do that, and I never would.
All I was trying to do in the first place was answer a question that somebody posed about what the highest numbered Catalina 250 out right now it. I know mine is not it, but I thought providing my hull number and date of delivery would be helpful.
Carolyn, we moved up 1 day. we'll be at strictly sail on friday. Hope to make it to the 'crossing the gulf stream' seminar. Looks like I'm working Saturday to make up for it.
Kevin, fill out the owners reg and I'll post your info.
