I found this over on the Conch Cruisers site.

The single-handed transatlantic Jester Challenge 2006 for yachts 20 to 30 ft will start from Plymouth on 3rd June and finish at Newport, Rhode Island.

Tom...Being a singlehanded sailor myself, this kind of thing, the Jester Challenge, really interests me.

This challenge appears to be similar, although on a much larger scale, to the challenges sponsored by the Great Lakes Singlehanded Society, who also look at these kinds of endeavors as personal challenges and not a competition between sailors.

Although I like company when sailing, I get even more joy when its just me, the boat, the wind, and the water. Something about the solitude and selfsuficiency really does it for me.
