Wow! what a show, well worth the 40 mile drive. We met Jerry Butz, the dealer that sold us Joint Decision last year, and he introduced us to the Designer of the C250WB. I asked if they have an changes planned for the boat. Jerry had just taken delivery of his new C250WB, the first off the line from the Florida Factory. The only change that was on the table was on the table! The new C309 has a teakish table, it appears to have teak edges, but a composite teak top, looks really good for a composite. The same material may find it's way into newer versions of the C250WB.
The designer asked how we managed the mast raising, and if we had any issues with the boat. We discussed the table and the backstay.
He cetainly seemed truely interested in feedback.
So if anyone goes to the miami show, check into the Catalina display.
We visited both strictly sail in miamimarina and the just huge, really huge display at the miami convention center.
Well worth the trip and the $15ea admission.
Traffic was a bear so we missed the seminar on crossing the gulf.
looks like you had a good time and did all of us 250 skippers proud, our thanks. ( Of course I hate all you Florida guys. We love south Fla. and when we read about your "adventures" we want to be there.) But thanks again for representing us .
