I'm thinking on installing a permanent 'bridge' over the stern of Joint Decision. Could mount solar panels and even (very desireably) move the back stay to the top of it. The bimini would need modifying, perhaps straps to secure while on the water, so that the bimini could still be lowered while trailing.
Any ideas on this?
Thought I would purchase some stainless tubing and fittings and mount it permanently to the stern and somewhere near the outsides of the outboard seats. It could act as the (trailing) mast support if it were strong enough.
Hey Paul - I've been thinking along the same lines - custom building and mounting tubular bridge assembly on my C25, and moving main traveler to top, & thus out of the way of cockpit. No action yet - just winter thinking! I'll be curious to see if anyone has done so or will do so.
