I have a C25 that was missing all the major teak in the cabin when I bought it.
I'd like to build drawers but want to avoid the expense of Teak.
Is there another common wood alternative that will stand up better than others?
I was thinking either maple or poplar.

Any opinions?

Scott

My Cal had lots of mahogany on it, seemed to hold up well.

Mahogany, Oak (though some say no way), teak, holly, cocobolo, maple, cedar.

I've seen tons of different woods. I think if you seal it properly just about anything will work. Poplar is really soft, not sure about that one, it may hold up to moisture, but not dings.
