So, I have the exterior woodwork done, with teh exception of the coaming trim around the cockpit cubbies. I now turn to the interior. The hatch trim and stairs have never been touched, so that is where I am starting. I had planned to replace the treads on the stairs, but think I can keep them as they came off very clean. The problem is the adehisve that was used all was left behind on the stairs. Any idea how to remove it?
I was just reading an old Sail mag. The Things that Work column. Guy got tuff tar off with orange peel. Wonder if that would work for you. Pack an orange in your lunch next time you are working on it.
I will try these. Also, I moved the stairs from my storage closet to the kitchen, in hopes of exposing the adhesive to more temperate atmosphere. It was quite sticky when the treads came up.
