Put her in the water Friday morning and sailed up and down the intracoastal for about 4 hours, I would say 20 miles or so.... I had a brisk wind (~10 knots) out of the east so it was a beam reach the whole time..... then anchored up at Eau Gallie causeway and watched the sunset.

Saturday the wind was kicked up even more, close to 15 or 20 knots... I had to drop the genoa for the 100% jib to avoid too much weather helm, but the wind was out of the north so I broad reached down to the Melbourne causeway and then beat back up to Eau Gallie. The wind was kicking up waves and I had her heeled about 10-15 degrees, and spray was coming up over the deck on occasion as she cut through the waves at a good clip, I would say approaching 6 knots easily..... a great day at sea!

I put her back on the trailer around 1:00 PM because I had some business to attend to, but overall it was a great time.

Here are some pictures for you to enjoy....

The sunset on 03/03/2006.... with some pelicans in the water...

Another sunset pic...same pelicans. :)

You can sort of make out the porpoise in the middle there.... there was a pair of them circling the boat playing...blowing spray out of thier blow-holes.

Some pelicans keeping me company...

Great stuff Dave. I just got back from a walk and was happy to see that 50% of the snow is gone and it is 41 degrees. Better days are not far off. Cheers.

Looks like you had a great time of it! Beautiful pictures, thanks.
What bridge would that be in the background? Looking on my GPS I'm guessing US Hwy 192?

Ben,

Actually that bridge is US-518, or Eau Gallie Blvd, which is about 5 miles north of US-192.
