A little on the chilly side, about 55 degrees with a 15 knot wind. Picked the little one up from school and Daddy and his little girl went out on the water. There is nothing better than this
Nice Zach. Enjoy her while you can. Sooner than you can imagine, she will be in college. I have three in college now and wish I would have gotten back into sailing when they were your daughters age. Cheers.

My boat os docked at Holiday Marina on Lake Norman about 3 miles from the house. It is a very nice lake and has a lot of sailors out on the lake. I do not get to sail in the salt water like a lot of you guys but Lake Norman is a large lake with deep clean water and many little islands to anchor off of and camp for the weekend. We will doing that this weekend, it is supposed to be in the upper 70's this weekend and sunny, maybe some more pics on the way Puravida Zach
Yes guys I love taking my daughter out. I have had her onboats since she was born but just started sailing last october. She loves to hang out on the boat but she makes keep a snack drawer, a Mr. potato head and plenty of coloring books to keep her busy. I am introducing her to boating responsibilty slowly but surely, I want her to have fun first. She loves to operate the tiller (in light winds) and I occasionally let her crank on a winch (she likes the sounds it makes). other than that she only wants to play and that is more than OK with me at this point. My goal is for her to take me out sailing within a few years I just got back from Costa Rica in Feb. and I bought this awesome hammock that I hang from the mast to the front of the boat. She loves to lay in that. I will post a pic of it. She will make you laugh.

All that means is that your trailer won't rust like ours do. :)
Some of the best sails I've ever had were with my 6yo son. I carry enough of his stuff to keep him entertained when he gets bored though cause he really doesn't care for the 6-7 hour sails we go on. Now he can even man the helm while I go foreward to raise the sails. Makes him think he's the captian! My favorite part is just before we tack I yell Come About! and he yells back Come About! back to me. Plus it lets him know, Hold On!
Zach: Congratulations! Keep up this great time with your daughter.
My daughters greatly prefer sailing to any other type of water craft just for the simple reason of being together. Over the years, most family vacations were spent on or near the water in pursuit of power boat rentals, runabouts, para-sailing, houseboats, jet skis, chartered catamarans, cruise ships, outriggers, or crewing with friends on sailboats.
However, there is just something magical they love about being on a sailboat with ol Dad. Sailing provides a happy discipline and fun to youngsters.
The envy. My sons were sailing with me before being teens. We sailed RN Bosuns and Laser (I's) on lakes in England. Never got the chance to take them on a real boat. Now my youngest son has a 20' that he's restoring (gift from a friend) here in Florida . His younger experience drags his mind to the water often. I'm sure you daughter will look back on these days with dad on the boat with a very warm heart and she'll have future adventures galore based on these trips.
